Our Avenue of the Americas :

Our Avenue of the Americas: Music, Dance and Social Studies from Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Brazil
In Manhattan, there is a portion of 6th Avenue that is named the “Avenue of the Americas” which is lined with medallions depicting the emblems of our sister countries in the Western Hemisphere. The teaching artists of Hispanic Culture Arts will lead students in their own cultural walk down “Our Avenue of the Americas” and explore the dances and songs from four countries: Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Brazil.
The curriculum of “Our Avenue of the Americas” celebrates the diversity of culture that we are part of in our great city, creating a performance platform and opportunity for students to experience pride in the Hispanic heritage of New York City.
This program is appropriate for lower grades, ENL students as well as for students with disabilities (SWD).
