Folklore y Arte: Songs & Dances from the Hispanic World

The performing arts showcase Folklore y Arte presents songs and dances from the Hispanic World that come from ¨folkloric¨ roots: songs, dances, rhythms, lyrics and national costumes  from ordinary people, many of them from small towns and villages.  Some of these folkloric dances and songs traveled from Spain and countries in Latin America, to become famous worldwide, such flamenco dance from Southern Spain and the bossa nova from Brazil.

Songs and dances can have humble beginnings, but they are still very much an art form, and can travel from a small village, to the living rooms where we make music with our families, to the world´s largest theaters, all the way to our own school auditorium here in New York City!
